Could You Imagine What It's Like to Lose 100 lbs
COULD YOU IMAGINE WHAT IT’S LIKE TO LOSE 100 POUNDS?
SHOOT. SOME OF US WOULD DISAPPEAR OR, JUST BE A SACK OF VITAL ORGANS.
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching three students through their journey of losing one hundred pounds! Losing this amount of weight is astonishing to think about. What it takes to lose that is even more so!
That’s some serious dedication!
What are the things that keep people away from hitting their goals?!
- Soreness
- Fatigue
- Delish food
- Flakey gym partners
These can be HUGE hurdles to cross and very few people have the willpower to get this goal of FEELING better completed!
It will take time. It will be difficult. But, IT IS WORTH IT!
From the dedication to diet and showing up to train every day whether you feel like it or not, I love being able to share their stories.
Meet Paul . I can’t tell you how proud I am of this guy!

My name is Paul, That picture is me when I first started Jiu Jitsu at 270lbs. Wow.
I’ve always been active in sports growing up. I played football throughout high school and even college!
I decided to participate in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu because I was watching myself get further and further out of shape. I wasn’t lifting or working out at all and was incredibly overweight for my age.
Training martial arts sounded like a good idea and trying something new was high on my list.
I was having an urge to start something new and get into shape and Jiu Jitsu sparked my interest.
What made me want to lose as much fat as possible was the simple fact that I was fed-up with being the fat guy wherever I went! I was only 23 years old!
I resented myself for allowing it to get out of control as badly as it did. I made a goal of losing some excess baggage and becoming a little more healthy every day.
I lost exactly 100 pounds. I haven’t weighed this much since I was in junior high and I’m stronger and feel better than I ever have.
It’s like I’m a new person.
LOOK AT ME NOW Exactly one year after I started training!

One of the biggest benefits for me that I have noticed is that I do not get nervous in potentially tough situations. It is also a great stress reliever. My job is very stressful; Jiu Jitsu is the outlet for that stress.
Having a bad day? Go get some training in.
Lastly, it was a huge lifestyle change. I love striving to be the best that I can every day in my life because of Jiu Jitsu.
I don’t want to go and make poor diet choices or slug down brews till I can’t see straight. I want to be able to do my best during and after training.
If I could tell someone one thing that is in similar shoes to the ones I used to wear, I would tell them to just go out and get it done. Take care of your business. Stop making the same excuses everyone else makes.
You aren’t those peoples and those choices won’t fit for you.
Be bold and believe that you can and also believe, in yourself.
People are going to try and drag you down. Don’t let them waste your time.
These results are absolutely amazing! With a sound diet and an amazing place to train martial arts Paul lost the equivalent of a 12 year old!
So, that’s what it’s like to lose 100lbs! Pretty freaking awesome!
